December 2020 Bonnette, Page & Stone Corp. partnered with Binnie Media’s 98.7 FRANK-FM radio again as a sponsor for their annual Caring and Sharing Canned Food drive last month. In its 21st year, Caring & Sharing is the Seacoast’s largest canned food drive and live broadcast. The event collects canned goods and other non-perishable items as well as cash donations to support 22 local food banks and charities in NH’s Seacoast area and Southern Maine.
The 21st annual three-day event wrapped up on November 23, 2020. There’s a lot to be said for hosting a fundraising event in the middle of a pandemic but after three days of fundraising and a pantry pick-up/distribution morning (in torrential downpours), Binnie Media reported that 22 Food Pantries have received 240 boxes of food (approximately 13,000 “cans”). Additionally, their fundraising tally was over $11,000 in cash, checks and gift card donations. The cash donations will be turned into Hannaford gift cards and distributed to the various food pantries ahead of Christmas. 100% of the food and cash collected during the food drive goes to the Seacoast based charities to stock their shelves for the holiday season.
